West Jaintia Hills opens applications for CMYDS scheme

The West Jaintia Hills District Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme (CMYDS) Committee invites applications from registered organisations for financial assistance under the Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme for the year 2024–25.
The objective of the scheme is to provide creative outlets for youth to positively channel their energies, promote good citizenship, encourage service to society, and foster healthy social attitudes and national integration. It aims to strengthen the commitment of youth to nation-building, foster cooperation between youth and the administration, develop skills for productive employment, and raise awareness and motivation for socio-economic development.
The scheme offers financial assistance to registered entities including societies, cooperatives, voluntary organisations, sports and youth clubs, cultural associations, not-for-profit organisations, socio-cultural clubs, alumni associations, community-level youth institutions, registered sports associations, and district-level departments of the State Government.
Permissible activities under the scheme include the organisation of district-level youth festivals, cleanliness drives in localities, youth workshops and seminars, industry-specific exposure trips, youth career counselling fairs, sports events and tournaments, the Chief Minister’s Tournament or Cup in various disciplines, and indigenous sports competitions. The scheme also supports community regeneration and volunteering programmes, financial literacy and digital literacy workshops and seminars, mental well-being programmes including counselling sessions, campaigns aligned with the Sports Authority of India’s Fit India Campaign, and the organisation of neighbourhood youth parliaments.
Funds under the scheme shall not be used for disbursement of loans, acquisition of land, religious worship or functions, completion of incomplete schemes started under any other programme, payment of remuneration or salaries, or any other activity not listed as permissible under the scheme.
Proposals with a project value of less than Rs 2.00 lakh may be sanctioned and implemented by the respective Deputy Commissioners, with a copy of the sanction to be shared with the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, for information.
Applicants must include a copy of their valid registration certificate, the first page of their bank passbook showing the IFSC code, and a detailed cost estimate along with the application. Applications may be submitted to the Planning Branch, Room No. 130, DC Office, Jowai, during office hours. The last date for submission of applications is 5th June 2025.
