  • West Jaintia Hills: Dumping of coal along the National Highway prohibited

    The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills has issued an order under Section 144CrPC prohibiting dumping of coal along the State and National Highway within West Jaintia Hills District. Open and uncovered dumping of seized or assessed coal within the District is also prohibited.

    According to the order and in accordance with the directives issued by the National Green Tribunal instructions has been issued from time to time prohibiting the dumping of coal along the roadside of the District and National highway as it causes environmental hazards.

    The order comes into force with immediate effect and until further orders.
