    As part of the celebration of International Day for Older Persons on Saturday, the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Jaintia Hills observed the day by felicitation of 80+ years voters in all Polling Stations in the District by handing over letters of appreciation to the Senior Citizens issued by Election Commission of India.

    Three centenarian who were felicitated are namely:  

    Emmanuel Biam, 100 years of 19- Mihmyntdu Lumpyrtuh Salini Colony Polling Station under 2-Jowai Assembly Constituency was felicitated by BS Sohliya, IAS, Deputy Commisioner (Election), West Jaintia Hills District.

    Thyrngai Dhar, 101 years of 1- Thadbamon (Section No. 3, Lummuriap) Polling Station under 4-Mowkaiaw Assembly Constituency was felicitated by DD Syngai, MCS & ERO of 4-Mowkaiaw Assembly Constituency.

    Pherly Dan, 102 years of 37-Moodop Polling Station under 1- Nartiang Assembly Constituency was felicitated by WK Kharbuli, MCS & AERO of 1-Nartiang Assembly Constituency.
