    District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills District, Garod LSN Dykes on Thursday announced Weekend Lockdown from 10 PM of May 7 till 5 AM of May 10 in the entire district.

    The order was issued in order to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus and avoid an overwhelming strain on the health system and to avoid the loss of precious lives.

    The District Magistrate has restricted inter-State movement of persons, however, this shall not apply for transit vehicles of Assam/ Tripura/ Manipur/ Mizoram.

    MBOSE examination scheduled for 6th & 7th May, 2021 are postponed to 11th & 12th the May, 2021.

    EXEMPTIONS:
    Heath services including vaccination.

    Essential services viz.. Food Cooperation of India, Electricity, Water Supply, Security, Municipal Services. Fire & Emergency Services. National Informatics Centre and Telecom communication Services.

    Movement of essential goods. 

    Print and electronic Media.

    Farming and MGNREGA activities in rural areas.

    All Officials on COVID-19 Duty.

    Pharmacies, LPG distributors and petrol pumps.

    Passes earlier issued for activities NOT permitted in this Order are revoked.
