The ruling NPP national general secretary and deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar slammed the opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) for alleging the MDA government of being corrupt.

“Many times, the VPP doesn’t think before they speak that is why they are called a market party. They alleged that this government is corrupt but the VPP itself is laying buckets in every meeting to collect donations from the public,” Dhar told reporters.

“Also, the VPP president Ardent Basaiawmoit used to urge the people in every meeting that they should take bribes but they should not give vote. Now is that not misleading the youth and the people? Is that the way to encourage your voters? Who is teaching people to be corrupt, the VPP or the government?” he asked.

Dhar also said that not everything Ardent is saying is right because the government is there for the people.

He said just because the government is bringing different development, it doesn’t mean that the government is corrupt. “I have always heard them making these allegations. Therefore, if they think so, let them give in writing,” he said.
