VPP asks Govt to allot medical seats based on merit

The opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Wednesday asked the state government to ensure that the allotment of medical seats to the students is made on the basis of merit.  

“It is our earnest request that the allotment of medical seats to the students be made on the basis of merit,” VPP general secretary Ricky AJ Syngkon said in a letter to the health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh.

“Furthermore, while finalising the allotment of seats, due consideration should be made, in all fairness, to ensure the meritorious students are duly allotted in the top ranking medical colleges/institutes of the country,” he said.
