    The District Administration East Jaintia Hills District has prohibited the unauthorized possession or sale of explosives in entire District with immediate effect.

    According to the Additional District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, in pursuance to the general provisions under section 7 of the Arms Rules, 2008, it is hereby notified that no person/individual shall possess for sale or use of explosives in the District except as authorized or licensed under the rules.

    Further, the use of explosives by any individual/ person in coal mines and other mines is strictly prohibited.

    The order also warned any person found in violation of the prohibitory order shall be liable for punishment as per provisions of the law.
