    In order to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the JHADC election, the District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District has promulgated Section 163 BNSS prohibited use of public loudspeakers and holding of any public meetings or rallies throughout the period of 48 hours from 4:00 PM of 19th of this month till completion of the JHADC poll.

    The order also prohibits indiscriminate use of short message services in bulk campaigning in favour or against any political party or candidates and use of Exit Poll by any news channel or social media platform.

    Presence of campaigners belonging to other constituencies in the district is also prohibited during the Silent Period of 48 hours.
