    The Meghalaya Govt will be constituting the “State Education Commission” shortly in order to address the issue of the enhancement of SSA teachers salary.

    This was informed Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister to a delegation of Meghalaya SSA Schools Association leaders led by President Artisolte Rymbai on Wednesday.

    Tynsong informed them that the Government has received the sanction order for release of Ad-hoc installment and 1st installment of Govt of India share amounting Rs.272 crores (approx).

    He also said that now the State Government is workout for release of State Share matching the above Central share amounting Rs. 30.26 crores (approx) and also the additional funds against Capping Norms of salary.

    The Dy Chief Minister asserted that he himself is intervene on the issue to ensure that all the pending dues/salaries are released to SSA teachers.

    On the implementation of “Quarterly System” for payment of SSA teachers salary, Tynsong said that the departments concerned namely Education, Planning & Finance are working out and doing the needful to bring a system in place as discussed on the last meeting which was held on 21st July, 2022.

    He also informed that for smooth implementation of the “Quarterly System” the State Government also have to increase its Corpus funds in order to be able to cater the payment of salary to SSA teachers in the State.
