    Union Minister of State, Ministry Of External Affairs And Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on Thursday arrived in East Jaintia Hills District for a two days visit. He was accompanied by DK Singh, OSD to the Union Minister of State, A Baranwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat and other officials of the District. 

    On his the first day of visit to the District, the Union Minister visited the Health and Wellness Centre at Dkhiah West. He interacted with the beneficiaries and inquired about the medical services provided at the centre such as medicines, treatment for diseases, Covid Vaccination, Ayushman Bharat, E-SHRAM registration, and drinking water at the village. Other central schemes that was discussed during the interaction with the beneficiaries were the PM- Kissan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY), Ujala Led bulb Scheme among others.

    Kumar visited the Fair Price shop at Byndihati village, wherein the FPS dealer informed the Minister there are 135 numbers of beneficiaries under the “Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana” Scheme in the village and, also demonstrated how to operate the E-POS machine for distribution of food grain to the beneficiaries. He also visited the Anganwadi Centre at Tuber Village and interacted with the Anganwadi workers and beneficiaries under the scheme “Poshan Abhiyan” and the activities and facilities provided to children at the centre. 

    Later in the day, the Union Minister visited the Turmeric Processing Unit under Mission Lakadong at Shangpung Village in West Jaintia Hills District.
