    An unidentified man was found dead inside a jungle bordering Jalyiah and Dkhiah village under East Jaintia Hills District.

    Police said that on January 20, the headman of Jalyiah village informed that the public had spotted an unidentified male dead body lying dead in a steep area inside a jungle bordering Jalyiah and Dkhiah village.

    Immediately, an enquiry was conducted by the officer of Ladrymbai Outpost. However, as the day is getting dark and due to insufficient light inquest could not be conducted. The matter was informed to the senior officers and also request for the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit from CID Shillong.

    On January 21, upon the arrival of the Crime Scene Unit, CID Shillong an inquest was conducted and all legal formalities have been conducted with the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit, police said.

    A case has been registered vide Khliehriat PS Case No. 12(01)2024 under section 302-34 IPC.

    Police appealed to general public to inform them if they know the identity of the deceased person. They can contact the police or send an email at [email protected].

    Name: Shri. Not Known (Approx. 28/29 years old)
    Appearance: Fair complexion, Normal build, Black hair
    Facial Features: Narrow forehead, Separate eyebrows, Aquiline nose, Normal chin and lips
    Height: 5.7 Ft (approx), Weight: 55 Kgs (approx.)
    Face Shape: Oval
    Wearing apparel: Black Jacket, Black & Blue T-Shirt, Black Trouser Jeans and Green Track Pants.
