Umroi Pyllun Health and Wellness Centre gets first ambulance under IOCL CSR initiative

In a landmark development for rural healthcare in Ri Bhoi District, the Umroi Pyllun Health and Wellness Centre has received its first-ever ambulance, provided under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). This marks a significant milestone as the centre becomes the first sub-centre in the district to be equipped with such a critical facility.
The ambulance was officially flagged off on July 18 by Umroi MLA Damanbait Lamare in the presence of Raja Brahma, Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Dr. R. Tlang, Block Development Officer of Umroi, staff of the Health and Wellness Centre, and local ASHA workers.
Speaking at the event, Lamare expressed his appreciation for the much-needed support, stating that the addition of the ambulance will significantly enhance emergency healthcare services, particularly for expectant mothers and accident victims. He highlighted the strategic location of the centre along a busy highway, emphasizing that the ambulance will enable quicker response times during critical situations.

Officials from the Health and Wellness Centre echoed this sentiment, noting that the initiative will play a transformative role in improving medical access and timely intervention for the rural population.

This contribution reflects IOCL’s continued commitment to community development and strengthening public health infrastructure through strategic CSR efforts.
