    The State police have yet to make any arrests in the brutal murder of four people in East Jaintia Hills District.

    Additional SP Baniateilang Diengngan stated that two victims have been identified: Ravi Rai (23) of of Patha Elam, Nepal, Nasar Kyndait (33) of Dkhiah East Pohshnong, East Jaintia Hills District and Rajesh Rai (26) Koshi Anchal, Nepal.

    He said a criminal case is registered with Khliehriat police, and the investigation is ongoing.

    On July 6, four people were found brutally murdered in remote Umpleng village, with their heads severed and their hands and feet bound.

    The police are working to identify the other two victims and have formed a special investigation team (SIT) for the case.

    Crime scene investigators have been called from police headquarters. The bodies were discovered and analyzed by a Crime Scene Unit from Shillong before being sent for post-mortem examinations at Civil Hospital, Khliehriat.
