Umiam Police Station temporarily closed

The Umiam Police Station in Ri Bhoi District has been temporarily closed after officials tested positive for COVID-19.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (A), GK Iangrai on Monday informed, police officials of the police station have been placed under medical observation and at present all official works of the police Station have been shifted to Umroi Police Investigation Centre.

He also informed the Police Station is being disinfected as per protocols and once the establishment has been declared fit for re-occupation, the police station will then be opened for official works. The general public residing within the jurisdiction of the police station are requested to approach Umroi Police Investigation Centre for any urgent requirement or assistance.
