  • ULFA(I) dy. Commander surrendered before Army in South Garo Hills

    On received of source information about possible surrender of Dristi Rajkowa Deputy Commander of ULFA (I), East Garo Hills district police had put up a strong naka at all vulnerable points in NH 62 today the 11th November 2020. At around 6.00 pm received info that two vehicles are passing through Nongal police station suspiciously.

    The OC and IC of Rongjeng Nengkra and Dobu were following up the information. At around 6.30 pm Nengkra naka team detained two vehicles bearing number Assam registration number AS 01 AK 9102 and AS 01 EA 4659.

    On verification found that 1) Shri yashin Ali @Axom 25 years of Lakhipur, 2) shri Rup Jyoti Rabha @Lombu 25 years, Vill Beldongpara Krisnai Assam, 3) Babul Rabha @Babul 22 years. Vill chotamati goalpara Assam, 4) Dristi Rajkowa @Bura Dada 50 years resident Belpara Assam, 5) Rahul Hazarika@Laden 27 years resident of Moran Distict Dibrugarh Assam Of ULFA in the vehicle.

    During the verification Dristi Rajkowa ULFA Deputy Commander Chief ULFA (I) revealed that they have escaped from police encounter at Bolbokgre in South Garo Hills and cross over to Bangladesh Gaobari.

    Thereafter, due to heavy operation at Bangladesh fled from there and contacted Army officials and surrendered at Dilsengre village South Garo hills.

    During the verification found the following arms and ammunitions from their possession which includes 1) one AK 81, 2) 9 mm pistol two nos, 3) AK 81 ammo 90 rounds, 4) 9 mm ammo 9 rounds and 5) .32 ammo 8 rounds.
