    UGC-Human Resource Development Centre in collaboration with Department of Information Technology, NEHU on Tuesday organized a one day webinar on ‘introduction to artificial intelligence in future e-learning’.

    A total of 53 participants from all over India took part in the programme.

    Speaking on the occasion Prof S R Rao, Director I/C ,UGC – HRDC, NEHU, Shillong in his remarks states that the theme of the programme is made up of two components – Artificial Intelligence and E – Learning, the introductory aspects of artificial intelligence and its impact on the life of the Teachers.

    He also mentioned the benefits of Artificial Intelligence in many areas of life and in the field of teaching and learning to help in the dissemination of knowledge in a thorough manner.

    In his speech, Prof. Rao also informed the audience the various Webinars conducted by UGC- HRDC, NEHU on topics like Climate Change, Role of Media in different sphere during the COVID 19,N E P 2020 etc.

    Others who spoke on the occasion included Dr K B Das, Asst. Professor UGC- HRDC,Convener .In her welcome address mentioned that online programmes plays a crucial role for teachers and Artificial intelligence as an effective tool for online learning.

    Dr Sufal Das, Department of Information Technology,NEHU speaking as the coordinator of the programme said that there are certain difficulties in online courses and Artificial Intelligence is one concept in making the learning process as more useful and reliable in classroom teaching from the Learners side as well as from the Educator side.

    He also mentioned that Artificial Intelligence is a concept which can be used in different set-ups to meet the users’ requirement and to make classrooms more smarter.
