UDP urges people not to be fooled by NPP, TMC schemes

The Shillong City Youth Wing of the United Democratic Party (UDP) on Friday appealed to the people of the state not to be fooled by the FOCUS and FOCUS+ schemes of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) and the Meghalaya Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment Scheme (or We Card) of the opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).

In a statement, general secretary of the Shillong City Youth Wing Desmond KL Mawlong said these schemes have suddenly come up during the last two months.

“We want to know if the people of the state only need such kind of help during the election?” he asked.

He said sudden coming of leaders of the different national parties to the state also shows that they remember Meghalaya only during election times.
