    The group matches in Zone 2 of the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s U-15 Inter District Tournament concluded today, with Tura District Cricket Association and East Garo Hills District Cricket Association qualifying as the top two teams. 

    Meanwhile, in Zone 1, Shillong Cricket Association and All Jaintia Cricket Association won their respective matches but there are still two rounds to go as this group has five teams compared to Zone 2’s four. 

    Tura won their match against North Garo Hills District Cricket Association by 25 runs, with Darnel Bilkam M Sangma the man-of-the-match, while EGH defeated West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association by a narrow one wicket. Here Artemius Marngar was the man-of-the-match having taken four wickets. Tura topped Zone 1 with three wins in three games, while EGH claimed two victories. 

    In Zone 2 today, the SCA were put into bat after Ri-Bhoi District Cricket Association won the toss. The SCA made a mammoth 178/3 in their 20 overs, with Krishiv Choudhary and Rudra Singh Rathore both making 53, while Angkit Tamang smashed 32 not out off just 12 deliveries. In the chase, Ri-Bhoi were restricted to 81/6, with two wickets each for SCA’s Aashish Kumar Lohar and Md Wahid Ali. 

    In the other match, All Jaintia CA batted first after winning the toss and posted 144/3. Maremdor Sutnga was the top scorer with a run-a-ball 34. East Jaintia CA were then restricted to 99/6, suffering three run outs along the way.
