Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Friday informed that he has been tested negative for COVID-19.

“I have tested negative. With this I have completed testing 31 or 32 times,” Tynsong told journalists when asked about his recent meeting with Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika who had tested positive COVID-19 on Thursday.

Tynsong and Hazarika are heading the regional committees on inter-state boundary disputes constituted by both Meghalaya and Assam respectively.

When asked, the deputy chief minister said all contacts in the state have been tested.

“We are responsible people in the secretariat or outside the secretariat. The moment if amongst us they happen to get positive immediately the circulation is made and once the circulation is made, we already know what steps to be done. Therefore, we don’t have any hesitation to tell you,” he added.

He said that he is following all necessary protocols for safety.
