NPP state president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday slammed the opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) for not daring to present the ‘blueprint’ to prove its love for the jaidbynriew.

“I asked for a blueprint to prove your (VPP) love for the jaidbynriew but instead you reply saying that I am not welcome to join VPP because I am too old?” Tynsong said this while addressing at the general election campaign of the party at Ladthadlaboh, Jowai in West Jaintia Hills District.

“Yes, I may be old and I may be bald so let me ask you how new you think you are,” he asked VPP president Ardent M Basaiawmoit.

He reminded Basaiawmoit that “We have been working together as MLAs in 2008 and 2013 but I want to know what are your contributions, please tell me.”

The NPP state president also warned people to not get swayed by such political parties, who do not have any blueprint.

NPP-led Govt is a Govt with courage, dares to take up challenging issues, says Conrad K Sangma

On the allegations against the NPP-led MDA government, Tynsong said despite this, the party is growing from strength to strength in Meghalaya. “From just 19 seats in 2019, today we have 26 MLAs after the 2023 polls,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, the deputy chief minister said that MDA led by NPP is the only government which dared to take up sensitive issues like inter-state border, them metor etc.

Urging people to vote for the NPP, Tynsong said it will be a proud moment for the people of Khasi and Jaintia Hills if a Khasi woman gets to represent and be their voice in parliament. “Therefore, vote for Ampareen Lyngdoh,” he said.
