Two prisoners escape from hospital in Jowai

Two prisoners escaped from the Jowai civil hospital in West Jaintia Hills district on Sunday morning. 

They have been identified as Small Phawa and Kwall Laloo. While Phawa was convicted for raping a minor girl, Laloo for his involvement in a murder case. 

According to sources, the duo were taken to the civil hospital after they complaint of some health issues. 

However, they managed to give police a slip while having tea in a shop nearby.

When contacted, district police chief Bikram D Marak said that investigation has started and police are on the job to nab the two prisoners.
