Two minute silence observed for Freedom Fighters

A two minute silence was observed on Tuesday at the Main Secretariat premises, Shillong in memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for India’s Freedom.

The day also commemorates the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

As part of the observance, senior government officials laid wreaths at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
