Two infants buried alive with their parents in West Jaintia Hills District

Four members of the same family lost their lives after they were buried under heaps of earth, which collapsed from a hillock beside their home while they were still sleeping on Sunday morning in Pynthorlangtien under Jowai PS, West Jaintia Hills District.

The incident occurred to loosening of Earth after incessant rainfalls for the past few days in West Jaintia Hills District.

The deceased were identified as (L) Biangki Phawa 31 year and his wife Pynjanai Ryngkhlem 25 years and their two children namely (L) Edify Ryngkhlem 6 years and Wiladaroi Ryngkhlem 3 years.

The local residents on learning about the incident at around 5:30 AM rushed to the spot to clear the debris with hope to rescue the family members but the sincere efforts unfortunately was in vain.
