  • Two Former MDCs and political party leaders appointed as Non Official Member in JHADC

    JOWAI: Amidst severe financial crisis, the executive committee of the JHADC appointed two former MDCs and political party leaders of UDP and NPP from various places as the Non Official Members of various committees of the Council for mere political appeasement.

    The former MDCs are Philemon Lyngdoh and Obil Kyndait while the other 21 Non Official Members are political party leaders in the block or unit levels.

    The Executive Committee led by Thombor Shiwat, CEM, JHADC vide office order (No 870 of 2019 dated Jowai 23rd July 2019) have appointed the Non Official members in nine different committees and shall be paid with Honorarium of Rs.3500/- Per month.

    The non official members of Rule Advisory Committee are Philemon Lyngdoh, Chutwakhu Jowai former MDC, Edmund Shylla, Mookyrdup, Jowai, Bashonghok Dkhar, Sahsniang. While for the Resources Mobilisation Committee-Kaidor D Syngkon, Ladthadlaboh, Jowai, Nidamon Shullet, Shangpung and Hamli Dkhar Mowtyrshiah.

    The member for planning Board- Danny B Chadap, Mowkyndeng, Koming Tlang, Dkhiah West.

    The members for development Committee- George Harshal Pharnge, Sutnga and Promise Syrti Umladang.

    Land Revenue Land Reform Committee members are Hotson Swer, Psadwar, Dawioo Syrti, Umladang.

    Public Grievances Committee is constituted by Planning Rymbai, Musniang, Mar Suba, Shnongrim, Smt Pyntngen Lato, Ladthadlaboh Jowai.

    Customary Law Committee- Sainlang Laloo, Moodymmai, Obil Kyndait, Tuber, Jesper Bareh, Ladrymbai.

    Elaka Boundary Committee- Wanrose Pale, Nongjngi Khliehshnong, Mutlang Dkhar, Wapung, Pyrkhat Shylla-Ialong.

    Environment Committee- Riyoo Pulang, Nongjngi, Sumarhok Passah, Khonshnong.

    According to CAG report, the various committees of the Council did not even held one sitting and were unproductive as they did not contributed anything.
