Two caught cheating in Meghalaya Police exam

The Central Recruitment Board (CRB) of the Meghalaya Police has detected two candidates indulging in malpractice and unfair means during the written test for the ongoing police recruitment.
According to a press release, on 18th May, 2025 a written test was conducted for the post of UBSI but in one of the examination centres in West Khasi Hills, a candidate bearing Roll No 11018783 resorted to malpractice by using unfair means during the examination. The Board informed that the said candidate is hereby debarred from future police recruitment irrespective of post(s) to be conducted by the CRB and his/her candidature for this present recruitment stands rejected.
Further, a candidate bearing Roll No 33025614 who appeared in the written examination for the post of Un-Armed Branch Constable (UBC) in West Garo Hills District on May 25, was also found to be involved in malpractice. The Board informed the invigilators swiftly confronted the candidate for queries and verification, but the candidate hurriedly tore his/her Admit Card into pieces and fled from the scene. His/her malafide gesture cannot be ruled out of guilt feelings consequential from practicing unfair means during the exam.
The press release said that the candidate bearing the said roll number is hereby withheld from this recruitment and debarred from this police recruitment until further order.
“If the concerned person wishes to contend/appeal or file representation against this Notice, he/she may do so to the appellate authority CRB by submitting petition through the Superintendent of Police concerned who is the Examination-in-Charge of police examinations within 7 days of this publication, failing which the decision made in this regard is deemed to be Final,” said the Board
