TUR demands thorough investigation into Golflink incident

The Thma U Rangli-Juki (TUR) has demanded the state police to conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the assault incident at Golflink.

Expressing its condolences to the family of the youth from Wahkaji who succumbed to his injuries sustained in the incident, TUR in a statement on Tuesday said, “(We) demand that the police conducts a quick and thorough investigation and brings the perpetrators of this dastardly act to face legal consequences of their actions.”

The statement said it is important at this juncture to not fall into the trap of rumours and mischievous spinning of the incidents to create hateful atmosphere in our society.

“Violence of any kind has to be condemned and our condemnation has to be based not on ethnic basis or identity politics. History of our place is replete with instances of our identity coloured selective outrage. What our society needs is a collective will towards a peace based on justice and truth,” it stated.
