Tudu assures to look into alleged surrendering of tribal lands to Assam

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu on Friday assured to look into the alleged surrendering of tribal lands by Meghalaya government to Assam in the name of resolving the boundary dispute between the two states.

“I will review it,” Tudu told reporters. He however said that he only came to know about the issue from media persons and not from any party or individual.

The MoS was responding to a query on the opposition from several quarters against the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Meghalaya and Assam since most of the tribal lands were allegedly forced to fall under Assam.
