Truck swept away by mudslide in Sonapur tunnel on NH 6

A truck was swept away by a mudslide into the Lukha River near Sonapur tunnel along the National Highway 6 (Shillong Jowai Badarpur Road) on Friday morning.

The mud flowing down the slope from the hill covered the tunnel entrance, blocking the road and leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded on the highway.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
