Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) representative Sadon K Blah on Monday said the tripartite peace talks between the government and the outfit is going in the right direction.

Speaking to reporters, Blah said, “Regarding the tripartite peace talks between the Centre, State and HNLC, we started last year in the month of June. So it is ongoing for almost a year now but things are developing in the right direction and there is no negativity in it as everything is in a positive mode.”

He informed that the Centre, State and members of the HNLC have held a series of meetings. According to him, around 6-7 rounds of meetings were held officially and unofficially during the last one year.

He said, “Whatever discussion that was taking place, we did not find any negativity in the entire procedure except technical issues. We don’t look at technical issues in a very allergic manner but we look at those things, which are technical in nature to get them solved piece by piece. Once the peace process is on the right track there is no going back.”

“The amnesty that was demanded after the official meeting with the home ministry and from both the governments, they are working on it and pending clarification, we cannot comment any further on that,” he said.

When asked, Blah said if not the entire process, they will be able to conclude the bigger phase of the peace talks.
