Tree trampled on tri wheeler resulting in one death & 2 injured

In an ill fated incident, one minor was killed while two were seriously when the auto rickshaw they were travelling was trampled by a tree, which was uprooted due to the incessant rainfall in Ri Bhoi District.

According to police, the incident occurred in Panitola, Byrnihat under Nongpoh PS when the tree suddenly felled down on the moving auto rickshaw at around 8.45 am on Friday.

The minor died on the spot while the two other were shifted to Byrnihat PHC by local samaritans.

However, the the tree was removed from the road with the help of the public and JCB and the auto was towed to Byrnihat OP.
