  • Traffic restrictions imposed in Shillong to facilitate smooth deposition of EVMs

    In order to ensure smooth flow of vehicles on election duty towards SRGT Parking Lot & JN Stadium, Polo for deposition of EVMs from various Polling Stations, the Meghalaya Police has imposed various restrictions in and around Polo Area of Shillong City from 5.30 pm of Friday.

    No Entry will be imposed from Mawroh Tri-Jn. towards Golf Tri-Jn therefore the vehicles shall be diverted towards FCI- Lawmali – Polo

    No Entry will be imposed from Tiara Restaurant Jn. towards Golf Tri-Jn thus vehicles shall be diverted towards Pynthorumkhrah.

    Due to No Entry from Golf Club towards Polo, vehicles shall be diverted towards Golf Tri-Jn. Mawroh/Shyiap.

    No Entry will be in place from Lumjingshai Jn. towards CRPF thus Vehicles shall be diverted towards Lawmali – Polo.

    No Entry will be imposed from Lumjingshai Jn. towards Forest Colony thus vehicles shall be diverted towards Lawmali – Polo

    No Entry will be imposed from 4th Furlong towards Polo Point thus vehicles shall be diverted towards CS Jn.

    No Right Turn will be put up at Polo Point for vehicles coming from Lawmali Jn thus vehicles shall be diverted towards Green Hills Jn.

    No Right Turn will be imposed at Matri Mandir Jn. for vehicles coming from Green Hills Jn and the vehicles shall be diverted towards 4th Furlong

    The general public are informed not to ply Heavy Motor Vehicles around the Polo agglomeration from Wednesday to Friday.

    The general public are requested to avoid plying towards Polo area from 5 PM of Friday.

    The general public are urged not to park their vehicles around the Polo area as No Parking shall be imposed around the Polo agglomeration on Thursday and Friday.

    However, Emergency Service vehicles will be facilitated.
