The commuters on Tuesday morning in National Highway 6 are stuck in a traffic jam for the past few hours due to a mechanical breakdown of one truck at Wahmynso area bordering West Jaintia Hills District and East Khasi Hills District.

Traffic jams are common phenomena along National Highway 6 and will continue to be as along as the roads are not repaired and widened.

Frustrated commuters want the Meghalaya Govt to come up with new by pass from Ummulong or any areas connecting directly to Bhoirymbong so that all the trucks heading to Guwahati will ply through that bye pass.
