Bad roads coupled with inclement weathers caused a good cargo truck to overturned in National Highway bordering two districts of Meghalaya leading to heavy traffic jam.

The cargo was proceeding towards Silchar from Guwahati when on reaching the stretch of Highway bordering Puriang and Mawryngkneng of East Khasi Hills overturned due to pathetic road conditions of the highway.

The National Highway No.6 connecting to Mizoram, Assam, Tripura passing through Meghalaya along West Jaintia Hills is lying in its worst ever conditions with several large size potholes making all types of vehicles difficult to commute.

Only one way is open for traffic at Wahmynso area NH6 due to capsized of one truck on the highway. Traffic has been affected and there is a slow movement. Request all travellers not to overtake in Wahmynso area. Police are trying to tow the vehicle at the earliest and regulate traffic at the spot.
