The Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya, has clarified that it is not involved in the upcoming music festival proposed to be held near the Civil Hospital at Ialong in West Jaiñtia Hills.

In a press release issued on Saturday, District Tourism Officer S. Shylla stated that the Department has no information about the event and nor is a part of the said program. “The name, logo, and other properties of the Department should not be misused,” the statement read, warning that stern action will be taken against any unauthorized use.

The JSU has objected to the event’s location, citing concerns over noise pollution and public safety near a busy government hospital. The union has called on authorities to intervene and relocate the event to a more suitable venue to ensure public safety and compliance with regulations.
