Total curfew in Ri Bhoi

In view of the prevailing situation concerning COVID-19 in the State, Country and Globally, the District Magistrate Ri Bhoi District promulgated “TOTAL CURFEW” within the jurisdiction of Ri Bhoi District with effect from 6:00 A.M of 14th April 2020 up to 6:00 A.M. of 16th April, 2020.

The curfew is to put in place preventive and mitigation measures to identify and take more stringent steps so the pandemic of COVID-19 is contained in Ri Bhoi District and Meghalaya. Also to ensure observance of strict protocols of the Advisories issued by Government of
Meghalaya in the Health & Family Welfare Department.

The curfew is issued under section 144 Cr.P.C and read with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulation, 2020.

The Order will “NOT apply to Security Forces, Medical Teams on Duty, Police, Armed Forces, Fire & Emergency Service.

Arrangement of Wholesale Traders which are scheduled to open in Ri Bhoi District on 14h April, 2020 and arrangement of Wine shops scheduled to open in Ri Bhoi District w.e.f. 13th to 17th of April, 2020 stand “CANCELLED”

All Curfew Passes barring essential services and medical emergencies are hereby suspended for the Curfew period of 48 (Forty eight) hours
