Timing of Shops opening in Mendipathar

As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the second wave of COVID-19 in North Garo Hills district and in Mendipathar Bazaar in particular which is normally crowded, the District Magistrate, NGH, R P Marak under section 144 Cr.PC and Epidemic Diseases Act has issued an order stating the alternate timing of shops to be opened from May 5 untill further notice.

Grocery shops selling essential items, hardware, hotel/tea stall, saloon and beauty parlour, pan shops, fruits and vegetables shops, meat and fish stall are ordered to be opened from 8:30 am to 1pm.

Cloth shops, furniture, electrical, electronic, bycycle shops, cosmetic, sports, mobile and tyre reparing workshop shall open from 1pm to 6pm.

All shopkeepers, traders and customers should mandatorily wear face mask and practice hand hygiene. Hand sanitizer or soap and water should be kept in every shop. Physical distance must be maintained.

The order also stated that it’s violation will result in imposing of fine and closure of shops until further order.
