Three Muslim youths arrested for abduction attempt in West Garo Hills

In swift police action, three Muslim youths were arrested for assault and abduction attempt of one person in West Garo Hills District within 48 hours of incident.

Police said on Friday an information was received at Selsella OP that on Thursday 5:30 pm, one person while returning from Block Office, Selsella after attending a meeting, two persons namely Nur Alom of Sakmal village and Nazidur Islam of Kandergaon village, both under Rajabala OP attacked him at Haldibari and attempted to take him in their vehicle. However, he escaped somehow.

Later, the same accused persons attacked him again on the same day between Haldibari and Babetpara village but he was saved by four (4) good Samaritans. The four persons then escorted him to his home at Rajabala.

On receipt of information, a case was
immediately registered vide Tura PS Case No. 141(07)2022 u/s 341/342/365/511/34 IPC and investigated by UBSI Rhenius R Sangma.

On Saturday, three persons namely Nur Alom (23), S/o Siddig Sheikh, R/o
Sakmal village, PO Rajabala, PS Phulbari, West Garo Hills, Moshaidul Sheikh (22), S/o Lt. Sharifuddin Sheikh, R/o Bhalgaon village, PO Rajabala, PS Phulbari, West Garo Hills, and Nazidur Rehman (23), S/o Saidur Rehman, R/o New Bhaitbari village, PO Bhaitbari, PS Phulbari, West Garo Hills
were arrested and forwarded to court. Investigation continues and chargesheet
shall be filed soon.
