Three held with heroin in Shillong

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested three persons with heroin in Shillong. The accused have been identified as Rohit Mattu, Ansh Sher Gill @ Suraj Gill, and Raman Raina.
According to ANTF SP Jagpal Singh Dhanoa, the operation was carried out based on source information, which led to the detention of Rohit Mattu in the Cantonment area. A search conducted by S.I Pradeep Das and staffs of ANTF PS in the presence of independent witnesses recovered 10.26 grams of heroin from Rohit Mattu’s possession.
Further investigation revealed that Rohit Mattu worked for Suraj Gill, who is the main supplier of drugs in the Cantonment and adjoining areas. Suraj Gill was detained, and preliminary enquiry revealed that he uses his hardware store as a front for his illegal activities.
During the investigation, Raman Raina was also detained and revealed that Suraj Gill had taken a rented house in Raid Laban area in his name and Rohit Honda’s name, where heroin was kept. A search of the rented house led to the seizure of 152.26 grams of heroin.
A total of 162.52 grams of heroin has been seized, and another accused person, Rohit Honda, is on the run.
