Terrace farms in Shiliangum Diengiei ravaged by hailstorm

The terrace farms carved along the hills of Shiliangum Diengiei turned white on Sunday late afternoon as heavy rains and hailstones lashed the area.

Meghalaya, known for its terrace farming, saw crop damage in places like Shiliangum Diengiei due to the sudden hailstorm. The natural disaster has left residents concerned about the damage caused to homes and farmlands.

Farmers in the area are now hoping for relief and support from the government to recover from the losses.

Other parts of the state, including Ri-Bhoi and Mawlai Mawiong, were also affected. A high-tension electric pole collapsed at FCI Road, disrupting power supply in the area.
