Suresh Bareh convicted for rape and attempt to murder of minor girl in East Jaintia Hills

The Court of Special Judge (POCSO), East Jaintia Hills District convicted Suresh Bareh for the crime of rape and attempt to murder of a minor girl in the district and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Bareh was arrested on the basis of a criminal case registered vide Khliehriat Women Police Station C/No. 34(10)2022 U/s 323/307/376AB/376 (2)(f) IPC r/w sec. /6 POCSO Act. The Investigation was done meticulously and Charge sheeted vide CS No. 3/2023 dated 20.01.2023.

Bareh was sentence to life imprisonment for offence under section 376 IPC read with section 6 of POCSO Act with a fine of Rs. 50,000 /- only and one year imprisonment with fine of Rs. 1000/- for an offence under section 323 IPC .
