Subroto Mukherjee Cup: Big wins for East Jaintia Hills, Ri-Bhoi and East Khasi Hills

The second day of the State Level Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2025 featured exciting matches on Wednesday in the under-17 boys, under-17 girls, and under-15 boys categories. Schools from East Jaintia Hills, Ri-Bhoi, East Khasi Hills, and South West Khasi Hills recorded big wins across the three venues — SSA Stadium Polo, Mawlai Madan Heh, and SAI STC NEHU, Mawkynroh.
In the under-17 boys’ matches, Karukol Higher Secondary School (South Garo Hills) edged past St. Claret HSS (South West Garo Hills) 2–1. Borshing Memorial Secondary School (West Khasi Hills) and Bajengdoba HSS (North Garo Hills) shared points in a 2–2 draw. Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School (Ri-Bhoi) dominated Rongrenggre Government HSS (East Garo Hills) 7–0, while O.M. Roy Memorial HSS (East Khasi Hills) secured a narrow 1–0 win over Little Star English Medium Secondary School (Eastern West Khasi Hills).
In the under-17 girls’ section, Lotus Secondary School (East Jaintia Hills) thrashed St. Claret HSS (South West Garo Hills) 8–0, with multiple players getting on the scoresheet. Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School (Ri-Bhoi) drew 1–1 with Kyrshai Govt. LP & UP School (West Khasi Hills). Tyrsad HSS (East Khasi Hills) delivered the day’s biggest win, defeating Kakurol HSS (South Garo Hills) 19–0. The last match between Upper Kharkutta UP School (North Garo Hills) and Govt. Boys HSS (West Garo Hills) ended in a goalless draw.
In under-15 boys’ action, Little Star English Medium Secondary School (Eastern West Khasi Hills) beat Govt. Boys HSS (West Garo Hills) 4–0 and qualified for the semi-finals. Musniang Secondary School (East Jaintia Hills) registered a 7–0 win over St. Claret HSS (South West Garo Hills). Govt. Boys HSS (West Jaintia Hills) beat Mandalpang Govt. LP School (North Garo Hills) 2–0, while Little Star HSS (South West Khasi Hills) won 3–0 against St. Mary’s HSS (East Garo Hills).
