Students Identity Card is now vehicle pass in Shillong

In order to address the problem of school dropping by private vehicles in Shillong city, the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has allowed the use of private vehicles for dropping/picking up of students only in view of the present imposition of odds/even rule for private vehicles.

This is due to the fact that the Deputy Commissioner has received numerous requests for exemption of Odd- Even Mode for private vehicles dropping children in various institutions.

The Principals of different institutions (colleges and schools) were instructed to inform the parents that private vehicles may be allowed to ply only for dropping and picking of children from school/ colleges strictly for the purpose as stated and subject to production of valid school/college ID.
