    In a significant step towards fostering green skills and sustainable development, the Skill Development Institute (SDI) Guwahati, in collaboration with Training Partner Learnet Skills Limited, under the Skill Council for Green Jobs, inaugurated the Solar PV Installer (Suryamitra) Course during an inauguration ceremony held at (SDI) in Guwahati on September 4.

    The course is designed to empower the youth with skills in the growing renewable energy sector, particularly focusing on solar energy technologies.

    A total of 58 candidates from the first batch of Skill Development Institute (SDI) Guwahati, for the 2024-25 fiscal have been successfully placed in prestigious companies across India, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s mission to empower youth with industry-relevant skills.

    The candidates are placed in companies such as Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Sobha Developer Ltd, and Tenneco Air India Pvt. Ltd and L&T Hazira Offshore Plant.

    The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Ashok Das, Director (HR), Oil India Limited, who inaugurated the programme and highlighted the importance of green jobs in the world.

    Das emphasized the role of solar energy in contributing to India’s vision of a sustainable and energy-efficient future. He stated, “As we move towards a greener future, it is essential to equip our youth with the right skills to meet the growing demand for renewable energy. The Solar PV Installer Course is a step in that direction, and I am proud that Skill Development Institute (SDI) Guwahati is supporting such crucial initiatives”.

    The inauguration ceremony was followed by the interaction of the students of Skill Development Institute (SDI) Guwahati. Arunjyoti Baruah, CEO, Skill Development Institute, Guwahati; Rajumoni Saikia, Secretary and Bikram Chakraborty, Treasurer, SDI, Guwahati were also present on the occasion.
