    The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division H Nayak has prohibited assembly of more than 5 (Five) to prevent any law and order breakdown.

    In an order issued the Sub Divisional Magistrate said that it has come to the notice of SDO Civil Sub Division Sohra that there is a fake news spreading in Youtube relating to the announcement of Results in the General Election 2023 pertaining to the 26-Shella and 28 Sohra Assembly Constituency which is contradicting the result announced by the Returning Officer of 26 Shella and 28-Sohra Assembly Constituency.

    The prohibitory order was issued under section 144 CrPC in view of the possibility of breakdown of law and order and in order to safeguard lives and public property and to prevent any untoward incident.

    The order also prohibits carrying of weapons or items which can be used as a weapon.

    It also prohibits parking of vehicles along the stretch leading towards the Sub Divisional Court, Sohra and Sub Divisional Office, Sohra.

    The order comes into force w.e.f. 2nd March 2023 and until further orders. Violation will invite other relevant sections.
