    JOWAI: State Transports Minster Sniawbhalang Dhar today appealed to the teachers to have patience with the Government for their dues while exhorting the teachers to keep themselves updated with the new technology.

    Dhar was speaking at the celebration of the 58th Teacher’s Day at District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai organized by the office of the District School Education Officer, West Jaintia Hills.

    The Transport Minister highly appreciated the selfless contribution and dedication of the teachers towards the overall development of the students and the society as a whole, being thankful he acknowledged that “whatever we are today is because of our teachers.” He proudly admitted that the role played by the teachers in the society is irreplaceable, the District as a whole has developed in many field as the teachers have contributed in shaping and moulding the students.

    He congratulated the District teachers’ awardees for their service and requested the teachers to continue serving the society through their selfless service.

    Speaking as Guest of Honour, Chairman of Meghalaya Commission on Resource Mobilisation Wailadmiki Shylla remembered with reverences and expressed his gratitude to all the teachers who have moulded and guided him. He thanked the teachers for their dedication, patience and their continued sacrifice for the betterment of the students.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner R.S Manners who was also present highly spoke about the dedication and service of the teachers. She requested the teachers to diligently conduct themselves as students look up at them as role models. Urge the students to learn as much as possible from their teachers, to be obedient, attentive and practice the concept taught by the teachers and pass on the knowledge to others and to be part of the society.

    Joint Director, Director of Education & Literacy, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai D. Khongiong in her introductory speech appreciated the teachers for their dedication in preparing the children for their tomorrow.

    Songs and dance and a skit on effects of over expose to social networking were performed by the students to express their gratitude to the teachers.
