SMB: Do not display goods & wares on public thoroughfares

The Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) has directed all shops and commercial establishments not to display their goods and wares outside their premises failing which their business license will be suspended.

The Board observed that several shops and commercial establishments are displaying goods and wares outside their premises.

“This is a blatant encroachment into public paths and roads leading to inconvenience of the general public and is violating the terms and conditions set-forth in the Business License issued under the Shillong Municipal Bye-Law 136 framed under Meghalaya Municipal Act 1973 (As Amended),” said a general notice issued by the Board.
