    The Mihmyntdu Community Social Welfare Association (MCSWA) in collaboration with Meghalaya Directorate of Social Welfare on Friday organized a Skill training Program on various trades under the Project Empowerment for High Risk Group at MCSWA Office in Salaroh Jowai.

    The objective of the project is to reduce the prevalence of HIV and STI infections among most at risk women and offerings them economic empowerment through programme focussing on rehabilitation of key population to exit from sex work.

    R M Kharsyntiew Chief Judicial Magistrate WJH District encouraged the beneficiaries to take full Advantage of the skill training provided by MCSWA.

    She stressed on the Importance of skill training as a means of empowerment for key population of FSW and expressed her happiness and desire for the key population of FSW to take the right step through this training program to bring about a career change in their Individual lives where they can be able to economically and socially empowered.

    The trade includes Piggery Farming 25 beneficiaries, Beauty therapist 30 beneficiaries
    Food processing 15 beneficiaries and Fast Food Vendor 15 beneficiaries.

    Others who speak on the occasion include Dr I Kjam District Veterinary Officer, Dy SP Cresency W Lyngdoh, Lambor Suchen SDO MSSDS, R Shadap DMM, MSRLS, Dr JN Shullai Director MCSWA. The programme chair by Sunita Suna PM MCSWA and AJ Nongkynrih Chief Functionary MCSWA proposed vote of thanks.
