    Six persons are feared to be trapped in another tragic coal mine accident in coal rich district of East Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya.

    The incident took place at Umpleng area around 2 Km away from Jaintia Cement Ltd, Umpleng.

    Meghalaya Police in a tweet said “Information has emanated from SP Silchar that 6 persons from Assam are trapped in a coal mine in EJ Hills.

    The mine has been identified at Sutnga interior, under Umpleng AD camp and search operations are on. SP East Jaintia Hills Police and IG (L&O) are at the suspected PO.”
