Shylla says creation of summer capital will involve huge expenditure

Cabinet minister Kyrmen Shylla on Wednesday said the government will examine the demand for creation of a summer capital at Jowai in West Jaintia Hills District.
“The government will see the possibility of it and how to go about it but it is not easy,” Shylla told reporters.
As a legislator from Jaintia Hills region, Shylla said, “If the government can accommodate (the proposal) we don’t mind…”
He however said the creation of a winter or a summer capital will involve huge expenditure on the state’s exchequer.
Asked, Shylla said, “People can demand but we will make it happen if it is in our capacity but it is not easy to make it happen in one go. Demand or proposal, we accept but how to make it happen, only time will tell.”
