    The District Magistrate East Khasi Hills District on Sunday lifted the closure order for all shops and business establishment after adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure that all COVID-19 norms are being adhered.

    This shops and business establishment are at Police Bazaar area (from Khyndai Lad via Gold Cinema upto Umsohsun road junction) and G.S. Road (from Shani Mandir to Bimola Point), in Motphran area till Bimola Point, Motphran area to Stand Jeep area and MUDA Parking Lot (Upper Level) at Garikhana and Laitumkhrah from Police Point till Mohanson’s Dry Cleaner.

    The District Magistrate lifted the closure order with conditions that all persons are to mandatorily wear face masks at all times in public places. There should be social distancing of at least 6 feet/ 2 metres, maintain hand hygiene using sanitizers of soap and water, all shops are to mandatorily provide hand sanitizers for customers/patrons and respiratory etiquette must be strictly followed by all persons.”

    Failure to comply to any of the above conditions will entail closure of identified shops/commercial establishments.
